Design Coordinator

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum + Benefits (Permanent)

Gatwick, West Sussex

Conrad Consulting are pleased to be supporting an established construction specialist who due to an increase in new projects are now looking to recruit a Design Co-ordinator to join their successful team on a permanent basis. This position will be based on the outskirts of Gatwick, West Sussex.

In this role you will be working alongside and oversee an established Design team and other members of the Construction division on a day to day basis and play a key role in the continued achievement in delivering and meeting customer / clients expectations

The successful candidate will have previous Design experience gained from working with a construction specialist within the Interiors, refurbishment or fit out sectors and be experienced with AutoCAD


·Provide Support in preparing relevant technical information, including drawings, calculations, submissions, and other documents for presentation to clients, as directed by the Design manager
·You will understand design information, following set procedures to ensure accurate auditable records are kept and turnaround times through third parties (main contractor and manufacturers) are properly managed
·Develop an understanding on managing communication between Design and internal or external clients
·Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of construction drawings and technical terminology
·Technically strong and able to assist in solving site issues
·Produce drawings and related design information at tender stage, pre-start, and during construction on site, assessing on-site requirements during contracts as necessary.
·Communicate effectively with Project Managers & Contract Managers to ensure detailed design programmes are developed for each project at the various stages, as appropriate.
·Assist the Commercial team on technical issues by providing specialist input into the tendering process

The successful candidate will ideally have the following
·Previous experience working in a Design position for either a construction company, Sub contractor or with a relevant manufacturer of construction products
·General Industry knowledge
·Knowledge of AutoCAD
·Efficient in the use of design software and Microsoft Office Suite
·Self-motivated to lead and achieve the highest levels of excellence
